  • Turning Points for Children

    Turning Points for Children a PHMC affiliate provides its programs and services almost exclusively within the city of Philadelphia. We now serve more than 17,000 clients. In collaboration with Rooted LLC, Turning Points for Children has brought several community-based health workshops to its members. Our latest project together was the implementation of a Youth Focus Group on community violence in Philadelphia. Click the link below to read the report.

  • The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists

    Rooted LLC provided subject matter expertise to ACOG in support of the development of written content for the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) funded, web-based Prenatal Anxiety Digital Resource Center. The goal of the Prenatal Anxiety Digital Resource Center is to provide an integrated collection of tools and resources to patients to address perinatal anxiety.   • University of North Carolina (UNC) - Chapel Hill

    The Preconception CoIIN team has collaborated with Rooted LLC on a webinar about perinatal anxiety and support for BIPOC communities. In this webinar, Anika Carter, LMSW, and Kaniya T. Samm, MPH, Co-Founders of Rooted LLC, discuss the risks and strategies to support new mothers and families manage perinatal anxiety.

  • Integrative Trauma Treatment Center

    Rooted LLC designed a remote training course for professionals interested in the conditions in which we are born, live, learn, play, and age plays a powerful influence on our individual lives and the communities we live and work in. Rooted LLC assisted ITTC and other health organizations in integrating a trauma-based focus in their practice

  • Roku

    In partnership with Roku, Rooted LLC lead a workshop focused on the historical to president-day capitalistic contributions that challenge our ability to care for ourselves, our community, and our financial well-being. Through the lens of an intersectional economic framework, Rooted guided participants into an exploration of how the Black working class navigates spreading their wealth, resources, and knowledge amongst family. Our workshop provided tangible tools on achieving practical tools to redefine the relationship to finances and identify healthy wellness tools to address mental stressors.

  • National Institute for Children's Health Quality (NICHQ)

    Thank you all for joining us at The Equity Table last week as we celebrated Women’s History Month and continued the conversation about Equity for Mothers in MCH. We were joined by expert speakers, Dr. Art James, Janelle Palacios, Anika Carter, and Kaniya Samm. They did a tremendous job informing us of the historical and current context of equity for mothers in MCH and what resources are needed to address the needs in communities of color.   • Emerging Leaders

    Emerging Leaders (EL) is dedicated to improving racial and cultural diversity at the leadership level in Portland-area companies by providing pathways to leadership for traditional and non-traditional students of color and aspiring professionals. Rooted LLC has collaborated with Emerging Leaders to develop an annual “Fighting Imposter Syndrome” workshop for young emerging adult leaders.
